Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia

I am pleased to pen a few words in the inaugural Malaysia Leader that provides us with the opportunity to appreciate and recognize the accomplishment, contribution, sacrifice and achievement made by our leaders in building our nation. A book that is much-needed to capture the names and faces that matter and it goes beyond a functional purpose as a reference digest; it gives an insightful glimpse into the unique story behind each personal success.

The achievement of Malaysia today has not come easily, it has been a long and arduous journey, a journey fraught with sacrifices and disappointments but nevertheless we have been able to overcome the obstacles. It is the culmination of the efforts and hard work of both the leaders and the people who have together built Malaysia what it is today. It is also the result of the pragmatic visions of Malaysia’s successive Prime Ministers who, through their dynamic and charismatic leadership, had wielded the support of the people to build a nation that the various communities, diverse as they may be, are proud to their home.

Besides, resilience of youth is one of the main criteria in our Ninth Malaysia Plan (RMK9), in which the government will continue to ensure that our youths are resilient, possess leadership qualities and are equipped with entrepreneurial skills and knowledge. I see these publication that charts the profile of our distinguish leader in the government sector, political arena as well as the corporate community as an important source of reference for our younger generation to learn. Thus, I hope the spirit of our leaders will guide us to achieve the dreams set in Mission 2057.

I commend the private initiative and enterprise of the publisher, Axos (M) Sdn Bhd for creating a dynamic platform such as this instrumental book of Malaysia Leader which recognize our remarkable leaders’ contribution for our country. This book complements the efforts of Malaysia Government in promoting greater awareness on Malaysian leaders who actively involved in making decisions for the country as well as inspiring other Malaysian to strive towards even greater heights.

With that, I wish to complement Malaysia Leader on a very worthwhile annual and wish the publication every success it deserves.
